This conference will provide a unique opportunity for professional
practioners, academics, researchers and students to hear
aboutrecent
ecological engineering innovations from all around the world. They
will be able to participate in workshops with a focus on planning,
designing, and building our projects and activities to achieve more
ecologically sustainable lifestyles, and to establish contacts and
networks in this vital and rapidly growing discipline.
Engineers create functional things that provide individuals and
society with services. Traditionally engineers are very concerned
that their creations are functional, safe and economic. Ecological
engineers are concerned that the technologies and systems they
create
should be functional, economic, safe and healthy - for people, and
the natural environment - thereby securing the wellbeing for those
generations that follow.
Keynote speakers from Switzerland, USA, Sweden, Australia,
Holland and
New Zealand will introduce ecological engineering innovation from
around the world. They will explain how the community can
participate
in ecological engineering projects and present educational
developments. They will explain how ecological engineering can
contribute to global water security, and how infrastructure can be
designed to integrate with ecosystems.
