FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION IN WOMEN'S STUDIES
Texas Woman's University

Position:        Full-time faculty position in Women's Studies at the
rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.  Preferred starting date is
Fall semester, 2001.

Responsibilities:        Undergraduate and graduate teaching in feminist

pedagogy, theory, feminist epistemology, and/or women of color.  Serve
on graduate thesis committees and advise students.  Engage in active
research agenda.  Contribute to the ongoing development of graduate and
undergraduate programs in Women's Studies.

Qualifications:          Ph.D. required in Women's Studies or related
area.  Preference given to candidates who can integrate women of color
or global feminisms into the curriculum;  teaching experience in women's

studies expected.  Experience with web-based instruction highly
desirable.

The Women's Studies Program at Texas Woman's University offers the M.A.
degree, a graduate certificate, and an undergraduate minor in Women's
Studies.  TWU also requires all undergraduate students to take three
hours of Women's Studies as part of their core curriculum experience.
The Women's Studies Program serves approximately 800 undergraduate
students per year.

Texas Woman's University, established in 1901, is a comprehensive public

university, primarily for women.  Approximately 8,500 students are
currently enrolled.  A teaching and research institution, the University

emphasizes the liberal arts and sciences, as well as health related and
other professional studies.  Another aspect of the mission of TWU is to
provide undergraduate and graduate education of the highest quality in a

multicultural learning environment.  The University library houses the
Woman's Collection, one of the south's best archival and reference
collections on women.  The main campus is in Denton, a city of
approximately 70,000 located 38 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth.
