A truely progressive magazine!! Subject: Culture Change (formerly Auto-Free Times) printed! Dear Friend, We are proud to announce that the first issue of Culture Change magazine has been printed. It is numbered #19, in recognition of Auto-Free Times's 18 issues devoted to cultural change (in energy and land use). We hope to be quarterly. Improved support can make that happen, as we have tapped into a strong current of concern about today's unsustainable culture. Positive solutions to ecocide and the rat race are offered in this issue, but we have just begun, so we'd like your suggestions and submissions. Visionary cover art is by Richard Register, founder of Ecocity Builders and of Urban Ecology. Some of our articles in this issue are Biological Feminism; Front-line Culture Changers; Afghanistan War Smells of Oil; Vehicle Noise and the Human Toll; Wake Up to Gaia; On Diversity, Multiculturalism and Spirit; Overpopulation and Terrorism. As usual, our cartoons and art are arresting or hilarious, including a photo of a reworked billboard. Culture Change contains a resource guide of other magazines offering tools of sustainability. See all this and more, online at http://www.culturechange.org (this supercedes lesscars.org). If you have not been our past subscriber you might reply to this email with your mailing address and a request for the printed version. (You can buy a single copy for $4, and use the website subscription page, http://www.culturechange.org/subscribe_to_aft.htm ) For a subscription, the amount is $30 a year (regular rate), $15 for low-income, and $45 for regular rate plus t-shirt (famous squashed Earth by Adbusters). Send check or money order to Culture Change, P.O. Box 4347, Arcata, CA 95518 USA. Any additional donations are tax-deductible. Please consider enclosing or e-mailing us a letter to the editor, to help make culture change! Thanks for taking a new look at us.
