Peace, green & health activists: Tell auto makers to help clean up our air
NOW...

[Quick, before Ashcroft forbids it!] ...

... and to not wait years (if ever) for hydrogen fuel technologies, when
existing, in the house / on the shelf mechanical technologes exist that
would double SUV gas mileage and save consumers three times as
much or more than what these technologies would cost to install in new
vehicles...

For more healthful, lifeful air... healthier planet and people...

You may wish to share this internally...
externally, etc. or nada...

Air pollution is a very important public health conern that we all can
work to reduce, and improve the health of our planet... for all living
things...

Demand, and encourage others to demand that auto makers help
us SPARE OUR AIR...
Tell auto makers to clean the air:
http://www.autobuyology.org/tellcarmakerstocleantheair.pdf
http://www.autobuyology.org/thankyouforteaching.pdf

There are existing technologies that auto
makers could be using RIGHT NOW (they are in the house, on the shelf
-- RIGHT NOW)

These mechanical technologies include:
1. Continuously Variable Automatic Transmissions
2. Integrated Starter Generators
3. Variable Valve Control Engines

to help us all breathe clean air, reduce global warming, and enhance
energy independance... for the future... and, Auto users would save as
much as three times in fuel costs over what these technologies would
cost to install in new SUVs... I'm not pushing automobiles as a means
of transporation, but since so many of us drive or otherwise use autos,
shouldn't we, air breathers all, be demanding that the auto industry be
more
responsible and customer service oriented...? (see sources below for
verification of facts regarding costs and mileage efficiencies, the Union
of Concerned Scientists found that three of the technologies would
more than double the gas mileage of SUVs)

ergo...

Tell auto owners and air-breathers-all to tell auto makers to
make cleaner-air vehicles... for cleaner air, a healthier planet, and
healthier people...Clean Air: It's Patriotic! It's healthful! It's
Peaceful...

Thanks for working for social, economic,
political, and ecological peace...

A little known fact is that very few models of SUVs and other vehicles
are fitted with
interior air handling symtems that
permit the occupants to keep exterior air
from being sucked into the vehicle while the air fan, air conditioner, or
vent is turned on... like most often is the case in urban/suburban
commuting...

With the "president", the EPA, and Congress out of the environmental
protection loop, it's up to the rest of us to demand that automakers
make environmentally cleaner, and safer vehicles. Write your auto
maker
today and demand that existing on-the-shelf technologies be used to
increase auto
efficiency and decrease auto pollution
emissions... encourage others to do the
same... we all breathe the air we pollute...

You can have your station-wagon-on-steriods (SUVs) and clean air too,
if only the auto industry would do the right thing, right now! Just tell
them to, right now!Tell auto owners to tell auto makers to make
cleaner-air vehicles...

It may be the fossil-fueled car, stup__, er., dummy? The air we pollute
is the air we breathe. ...

Fight Air Pollution and Terrorism:
Practice random acts of carlessnesshood...
1. Curb the car.
2. Drive less.
3. Go carless.
4. Drive & car share.
5. Trip-link.
6. Buy smaller and greener, and rent up or larger when needed.
7. Support auto alternatives for others.
8. Support anti-sprawl growth measures.
9. Revalue and pay less for automobiles.
Make the car-deal-literacy-to-library
connection and learn the classic car deal
mistakes to avoid and save.
10. Negotiate an "environmental inpact
deduction" of 3-5% (or more!) off all
manufacturer's invoice prices to dealers,
and donate this deduction to
Greenpeace, the Sierra Club or other
frontline environmental organization.
It's y'our air... keep it clean.
11. Write to your auto manufacturer
(CEO) and make a plea for more
healthful and safer vehicles, especially
larger vehicles and SUVs...
12. Support and invest in clean renewable
energy sources, programs and policies.

Peace, & cheers to cleaner air... and healthier people...

And thanks for looking out for the trees, and the birds and the bees...

reduce, recycle, restore, reuse, recreate...

"The Car of Tomorrow: Why hydrogen-powered vehicles are attacting
some unlikely supporters" by Elizabeth Kolbert

Apparently the auto industry is using the promise of
not-ready-for-prime-time hydrogen fuel technologies to stall the use of
existing on-the-self fuel efficiency technologies that could be reducing
substantially our reliance of foreign oil, and reducing our air pollution
levels.

Also: just read where an SUV owners support group is asking Arianna
Huffington to tone it down on the oil for blood war rhetoric in light of
the eco-terrorist attacks on Hummers in LA last week... (An SUV
owners support group? !!!)

As important as individual automobile purchases are, even more
important is the lifetime costs of auto ownership and operation... I
figure a lifetime of average auto ownership exceeds $450,000... this is
more that the median priced American home... x2... do your own
math... figure in the social, environmental and personal costs and we're
talking real money...

Commuters may wish to make sure that their vehicle is fitted with an
interior air handling system that permits them to turn off outside
polluted gridlock air from entering the vehicle through vents in the front
of the vehicles when the AC, heater or vent is operative. If air quality is
a concern see if you can find a vehicle that permits occupants to recycle
interior air without mixing it with external polluted air... especially
during
heavy traffic conditions... it makes a difference, not just for asthmatics
and the respiratorally impaired, but also for everyone...

Quick, before Ashcroft forbids it...
