The Watershed Planning Program at the Massachusetts Department of Environmental 
Protection (Mass DEP) is hiring six seasonal employees for the 2025 field 
season (May - September). These positions offer hands on experience in water 
quality and biological monitoring, with opportunities to work on projects 
related to environmental assessment and other Clean Water Act objectives.

Successful applicants will:

- Participate in water quality monitoring field surveys in rivers and lakes.
- Participate in biological monitoring surveys (i.e., fishes, 
macroinvertebrates, aquatic macrophytes, algae).
- Conduct lab analyses for E. coli, chlorophyll, turbidity, etc.
- Support office-based projects such as data entry and analysis, GIS, outreach, 
or report writing.

Hourly Wage: $22.00 / hour
