Check the latest issue of J Wild Manag (July issue).  I think it just =
finished printing though (they're about a quarter behind), so it might =
not be in your library yet.  It's a special section on analysis of =
presence-absence data, so will be full of key citations and latest =
developments in occurrence modeling.

Original key reference would be D. MacKenzie et al. 2002 (Ecology).  =
Look for others by D. MacKenzie and J. Nichols, and more recent articles =
by A. Royle that better deal with heterogeneity problems.  (Sorry...I'd =
give a few full refs, but am not at my desk right now).

Not sure what opinions you're looking for, but occupancy modeling is a =
much more valid way of interpreting presence-absence data in a lot of =
situations.  Program PRESENCE is a useful and user-friendly way to get =
started...contains most of the latest occurrence models.
