U.S. and British instructors recently collaborated with ProAves, a 
Colombian conservation organization, during an intensive two-week 
workshop on San Andres Island, a Colombian province in the western 
Caribbean. The instructors worked with 60-plus Colombian nationals, 
teaching them techniques for safe capture, handling, and banding of 
wild birds as a way to monitor populations.
