The University of Arkansas's Department of Biological Sciences is actively recruiting graduate fellows for the Fall of 2006. In particular, the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Program (website: http://comp.uark.edu/%7Ewetges/EEpage.html) is seeking qualified Teaching and Research Assistants. Potential students need to contact faculty as a mentor is required for admission into the program.
The University of Arkansas has Doctoral Fellowships that provide supplements above regular TA or RA stipends. The maximum a Distinguished Doctoral Fellow can receive is $30,000/year. Support through these Fellowships can be provided for up to 4 years if good progress toward the Ph.D. degree is maintained. DISTINGUISHED DOCTORAL FELLOSHIPS - supplement of up to $20,000 (in addition to the regular TA/RA stipends) For students entering with M.S. GPA > 3.80 GRE of 1200 or better +5.5 or better on writing score Strong letters of recommendation Completion of a research-based Masters Thesis (Publications derived from that thesis would be considered as strong positive addition to the application) For students entering with B.S. GPA > 3.65 GRE of 1200 or better +5.5 or better on writing score Strong letters of recommendation DOCTORAL ACADEMY FELLOWSHIPS - $10,000 supplement (in addition to the regular TA/RA stipends) For students entering with M.S. GPA > 3.65 GRE of 1100 or better +5 or better on writing score Strong letters of recommendation Completion of a research-based Masters Thesis (Publications derived from that thesis would be considered a strong positive addition to application) For students entering with B.S.
