Session Information
Observations and modelling of Land Surface Phenology (LSP) can provide
critical insight into the local and regional consequences of global
change and provide important information for advancing our understanding
of a myriad of biogeophysical processes from local ecophysiology and
biogeochemical cycles to the dynamic development of the atmospheric
boundary layer and larger scale atmospheric circulation.
To integrate these aspects and predict the future development of
the climate system, climate driven LSP models, which are based in
plant ecophysiology, need to be integrated into global circulation models.
Contributions analysing Land Surface Phenology or addressing
ecophysiological and mathematical approaches to modelling the
phenology of compartments of the land surface, including e.g.
fine roots, are welcomed.
