Dear Colleague, The European Geosciences Union organizes a General Assembly 02 - 07 April 2006 in Vienna, Austria. At this GA a session will be organized on:
Land Surface Phenology: Analysis, Modelling, and Interactions in the Earth System Sessin BG4.02 Convener: Jörg Kaduk, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Co-Convener: Annette Menzel, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Deadline for Receipt of Abstracts: 13 January 2006 Link to session and abstract submission: http://www.cosis.net/members/meetings/programme/view.php?prg=192 - scroll down to BG 4.02 Please share this information with your colleagues. Apologies if you have received this information already. Thank you very much, regards, Jörg Kaduk -- Jörg Kaduk Lecturer Department of Geography [EMAIL PROTECTED] University of Leicester [EMAIL PROTECTED] UK - Leicester LE1 7RH Tel: + 44 (0)116 2523848 http://www.leicester.ac.uk/geography/people/jk61.html Session Information Observations and modelling of Land Surface Phenology (LSP) can provide critical insight into the local and regional consequences of global change and provide important information for advancing our understanding of a myriad of biogeophysical processes from local ecophysiology and biogeochemical cycles to the dynamic development of the atmospheric boundary layer and larger scale atmospheric circulation. To integrate these aspects and predict the future development of the climate system, climate driven LSP models, which are based in plant ecophysiology, need to be integrated into global circulation models. Contributions analysing Land Surface Phenology or addressing ecophysiological and mathematical approaches to modelling the phenology of compartments of the land surface, including e.g. fine roots, are welcomed.
