Thank you to all who replied to my post.
The overwhelming consensus is that there is no definite answer. I got some
great advice on removing invasives, and some references that might prove
useful. I think that if there is anyone out there looking for a research topic
for graduate work, or any kind of research this would be a great subject.
Obviously, not enough is known about what happens to harmful chemicals once the
plant producing them is dead. I will do some reading and maybe a small
experiment and keep you all informed.
