SUMMER RESEARCH ASSISTANTS -- WOODLAND ECOLOGY
12 WEEK POSITION BASED IN REDDING, CT

The Harvard Forest, a Long Term Ecological Research site, seeks two 
research assistants to conduct diverse field, analytical, and archival 
studies and organizational activities.  The two interns will perform a 
broad range of fieldwork, archival and historical research pertaining to 
research and educational activities in Woodland ecology and conservation, 
with specific focus on Highstead Arboretum, a 125-acre reserve in 
southwestern Connecticut.  The positions are based at Highstead in Redding, 
CT where the interns will work closely with full time staff and researchers 
from the Harvard Forest.  For more information about the Highstead

Requirements
Background in ecology, botany, forestry or environmental studies.  Field 
and data analysis skills and proven ability to work independently, 
collaboratively and interact with diverse people. Qualified mature 
undergraduates and post-graduates are welcome to apply. Personal 
transportation is essential in this rural area. 

Compensation 
Students are paid a stipend of $4560 for 12 weeks plus provided free 
housing on-site.  A modest stipend to cover food costs is also provided.
