Job Description: One assistant is needed to assist a UCLA graduate student
in a study of lizards on the island of Great Exuma, Bahamas. The project
aims to understand how humans are impacting natural populations of brown
anoles through habitat alteration. The data collected during this upcoming
field season will help determine the roles of natural selection and
phenotypic plasticity in driving intraspecific morphological variation.
The primary responsibility of the field assistants will be to catch large
numbers of lizards for a mark-recapture study. Other responsibilities will
include data entry and marking lizards with an injectable dye.

Dates: March 16-28 (may change slightly)

Qualifications: Applicants must have experience working in the field and
must be proficient in Excel. Experience capturing and handling lizards is
strongly preferred. Applicants must be incredibly motivated and have
outstanding patience and focus.

Benefits: Lodging will be provided. The living conditions are extremely
good compared to most field situations: hot showers, full kitchen,
gorgeous scenery, and proximity to beaches!

Additional Requirements: Assistants must pay for their airfare to and from
George Town, Great Exuma (from $300 to $500 depending on city of origin).
Because the cost of living is very high in the Bahamas, assistants must
also contribute $100 towards food.

To Apply: Please email a cover letter, CV, and a list of 3 references
