LABORATORY RESEARCH TECHNICIAN Grasshopper Nutritional Ecology and Physiology Kansas State University
Applications are being accepted for a laboratory technician in the Division of Biology at Kansas State University (http://www.kstate.edu/biology). The position is part of an NSF-funded investigation of the nutritional ecology of grasshoppers, which includes both physiological and ecological components. The position is available for 12 months beginning May 2006, with possibility of renewal. BS in Biology and/or Entomology is required. Applicant will (1) perform research with grasshopper species in the field and rear them in the laboratory, (2) conduct laboratory feeding experiments, (3) perform chemical analyses on insect and plant samples, and (4) be responsible for managing and analyzing data. Experience with and a knowledge of insect physiology and ecology is essential. Applicants should send or email application materials by 28 February 2006.
