Greetings,

I have zoooplankton samples taken from various field localities that need to be
prepared for stable isotope analysis. Zooplankton were filtered from the water
on-site using a sieve and rinsed into a container for transport back to the
lab. Samples were frozen in water until further processing.

Here is the problem: small amounts of detritus remain mixed in with the
zooplankton. This material may alter the isotopic signature of the sample. Is
anyone familiar with a method of separating the detritus from the zooplankton
aside from manually picking it out?

Thank you,
Matt
