FISHERIES BIOLOGIST =20 Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri will be conducting adult and juvenile fish impingement study at an electric generating station in eastern Iowa during 2006 and 2007. This plant is located in Bettendorf, Iowa. The purpose of these studies is to evaluate impingement of fish by the facility's cooling water intakes pursuant to Section 316(b) of the Clean Water Act. The studies will consist of weekly monitoring of impingement of fish. The impingement sampling will be conducted from April, 2006 until February, 2007. =20 Burns & McDonnell has opportunities for one or two biologist to assist in the field work for this project. The position(s) will be part-time and temporary. =20 DESCRIPTIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS =20 The Fisheries Biologist will participate in all aspects of fisheries sample collection including operation of collecting gear, sample processing and handling, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance. The Fisheries Biologist will also supply input into the day-to-day scheduling of sample events and communicate project status to the project manager when necessary. The Fisheries Biologist will have, at a minimum, completed undergraduate course work in basic fisheries biology, fish ecology, or aquatic ecology and have some field experience collecting fish. The ability to field identify most regional fish species will be important.
