We are seeking recent graduates with an education background in
rangeland management. This is a paid internship position ($750
bimonthly) and is situated in Phoenix, Arizona.

Major duties expected of the intern are to help with the compilation of
data to assist in the documentation of range improvements (i.e., earthen
livestock waters, wells, fences) related to livestock grazing in
allotments within the Sonoran Desert National Monument.  Livestock
grazing will be terminated from these allotments in the near future.
Creation of an Access database and Excel spreadsheet would be an
expected outcome.  Knowledge of these programs is essential. =20

Some field work may be necessary to ground truth the information.
Experience reading a topographic map would be helpful. =20

In addition, the intern may be tasked with helping to develop a Resource
Monitoring Plan for the Sonoran Desert National Monument.  This Plan
would use the Desired Future Condition Statements created for the
Monument to establish monitoring priorities for activities such as
grazing and recreation.  Some fieldwork may be required to allow the
intern to familiarize him/her self with the monument and its resources.
