=20 DEFENDERS OF WILDLIFE LAUNCHES NEW TOOL TO AID IN THE CONSERVATION OF WILDLIFE
Conservation Support Network Will Encourage Partnerships Between Federal Wildlife Biologists and Conservation Organization=20 =20 Washington, D.C. - Government employees need all the resources and expertise they can get to manage our nation's imperiled wildlife. That's why Defenders of Wildlife has launched the Conservation Support Network. This program will better enable Defenders of Wildlife to work with federal employees on behalf of imperiled wildlife and advocate for a stronger role for science in decision-making. =20 =20 "As a former director of the Fish and Wildlife Service and a career biologist, I know the personal and professional commitment government scientists have to our nation's irreplaceable wildlife," said Jamie Rappaport Clark, Executive Vice President of Defenders of Wildlife. "I also know how frustrating it is to not have all of the resources that you need to be able to get the job done." =20 The goal of the Conservation Support Network is to assist federal employees in promoting science-based solutions for the management of endangered wildlife. Defenders of Wildlife has a long history of successfully working to protect endangered wildlife and habitat and the Conservation Support Network offers an excellent opportunity to build on that success by assisting federal employees.=20 =20 "By providing a direct line of communication for government biologists and scientists to access the specialists at Defenders, we hope to work more closely with federal government employees to address the challenges they face in ensuring the use of the best available science in wildlife management decisions," Clark said. =20 =20 To make it easy for federal employees to access our specialists, Defenders is providing four avenues to contact our support network coordinator: either through our web site at http://www.conservationsupportnetwork.org, toll free at 1-866-899-9733, fax or by mail. =20 =20 "I hope government employees will take advantage of this unique opportunity to tap our wildlife, legal and policy experts here at Defenders. Together we can leverage and ensure access to the necessary tools to conserve our nation's natural resources," said Clark. =20 =20 Through the Conservation Support Network, Defenders is extending a hand to federal government employees to work more effectively in partnership. It takes the whole community, government biologists and scientists, outside experts from organizations like Defenders and others, to do everything necessary to conserve and sustain our nation's wildlife. =20 Heather Rorer Conservation Associate Defenders of Wildlife 1130 17th St NW Washington, DC 20036-4604 (202) 682-9400 x126 Fax: (202) 682-1331 [EMAIL PROTECTED] =20 Conservation Support Network http://www.conservationsupportnetwork.org <http://www.conservationsupportnetwork.org/>=20 Toll free phone: 1-866-899-9733 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] =20
