After extracting dissolved organic nitrogen using a water extraction (not KCL) on some agricultural soils, I want to digest these samples to ultimately get a total nitrogen reading. I need to assemble a protocol for an acid microwave digestion. I have heard that you can buy just a conventional microwave oven to do this. If anyone has an established protocol, and would like to share this, I would appreciate it. Additionally, I am also seeking more references which use acid microwave digestion for soil extracts.
