Pika project fieldwork small stipend Montana - Aug 15-31
Field assistant needed for pika study in Montana (just south of Bozeman), Aug 15-31. This work involves extensive hiking at high altitude, back- country living without facilities, and learning to observe, identify and map small mammals and plants. Stipend is $25/day, and meals are provided. Transportation to Bozeman is not provided, although ride- sharing may be available from some locations. Applicants should have experience with multi-day backpacking and any sort of ecological field- study. No experience with pikas is required, but applicants familiar with small mammals and/or alpine plants are preferred. Assistant will work closely with several researchers, including the leader of this long-term project (Chris Ray, Univ. of Colorado-Boulder).
