The board of the Atlantic Estuarine Research Society would like to 
announce that abstract submission is now open for its fall 2006 meeting 
that is being held in conjunction with the Community College of Baltimore 
County in Cantonsville, MD. The theme of our meeting will be "Recent 
Advances in Chesapeake Bay Science", though we welcome all presentations 
pertaining to estuarine and coastal science by members and non-members 
alike. The plenary session for this meeting will feature a key note 
address by Dr. Grace Brush of Johns Hopkins University and a panel 
discussion featuring Dr. Steve Giordano - Fisheries Program Manager, NOAA 
Chesapeake Bay Office, Dr. Jeff Cornwell - Research Scientist, Horn Point 
Lab, University of Maryland, Dr. Jonathon Kramer - Director, Maryland Sea 
Grant, University of Maryland, and Dr. Larry Sanford - Research Scientist, 
Horn Point Lab, University of Maryland. Additionally, the Port Authority 
of Baltimore will host a field trip to Hart Miller Island on the afternoon 
of the October 7th for 20 people. 

Abstract submittal and registration forms (payment through Paypal) can all 
be found at the AERS website: www.aers.info. Abstracts must be submitted 
by September 15, 2006. Presentation titles must be less than 250 
characters in length and the body of the abstract must be limited to 200 
words. Additional details about hotel reservations and discounts plus 
student travel and volunteering opportunities will be available on the 
AERS website.
