Susan,
I am a big fan of "SAS System for Regression" by Freund and Littell,
published by Wiley Inter-Science. They provide easy to understand details
about what all of the different options and procs do. They also do a really
nice GLM book too. As for basic SAS input routines, creating libraries,
etc., I think the online help guide that comes with SAS 8.0 and beyond is
actually very instructive. Welcome to the club.

Subject: SAS/STAT book
Dear List Members,
I am hoping you good folks can give me some advice on a SAS/STAT book to
purchase. I have never used SAS before so I am not familiar with the
program. I will be running a multiple regression analysis comparing some
crop variables with breeding bird survey trend and abundance data and also
using AIC to compare the results to determine which model is best. Thanks
in advance for the advice.
Sue
