Supervision received: Reports to the Vice President of Academic
Affairs and to the MSEP Department Chair
General responsibilities:
* Teaching responsibilities will include the following courses:
Physical Oceanography, Physical Geology, Environmental Monitoring, Hazardous
Materials Management. Teaching responsibilities may also include courses in
Earth Science and Natural Hazards
* Academic advising
Qualifications and requirements:
* Tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor requires doctorate
or equivalent degree in related field
* Tenure-track appointment at a higher rank requires significant
teaching experience at the post-secondary level
* Candidates who are ABD and in final stages of completion will be
considered for appointment at the rank of Instructor
* Experience in teaching and research at the college level and/or
experience in industry
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Proficient computer skills
* Demonstrated potential to fulfill the applicable evaluation criteria
of teaching and advising
Preferred Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in geology/earth sciences with professional experience in
earth sciences as related to environmental natural disasters
Salary: Commensurate with experience
