I am interested in hiring a graduate research assistant to participate in a disease ecology study of ungulates around the Greater Yellowstone Area. The project will start in September 2007 and is collaborative project using epidemiology, mathematical modeling, experiments, and field observations. Pending continued funding, the stipend will be between $13,000 and 18,000 per year with a full tuition wavier and possible extension. The student would enroll as a Masters student through the ecology department at Montana State University (http://www.montana.edu/ecology). Then, depending upon continued funding and initial results, the student could convert the Masters into a PhD. Previous experience in field ecology, statistics, and/or mathematical modeling is a plus. Interested applicants should send a resume and cover letter to Dr. Paul Cross at the Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center in Bozeman, MT (http://www.nrmsc.usgs.gov/staff/cross.html, email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]).
