Emerging infectious diseases and toxics are pressing issues for wildlife professionals. This one-day symposium will provide current information regarding the implications of emerging infectious diseases and toxics for wildlife and ecosystem management, wildlife and human health perspectives, media representation of the issues, and recommended safe practices to avoid exposure and/or spread. Experts in emerging infectious diseases and toxics will present their research on the following topics: Avian Influenza, West Nile Virus, Hantavirus, Chytridiomycosis, , Herbicide/Amphibian Interactions (Glyphosate and Atrazine), and Insecticide poisoning in birds of prey.
