GIS TECHNICIAN NEEDED for multidisciplinary research and natural resource 
management consulting team.  Manning, Cooper and Associates Ltd. provides 
applied landscape and wildlife habitat management for a variety of industry, 
government and private sector clients.  Services include science-based 
solutions for integrated resource management issues, environmental impact 
assessments, wildlife inventories, and best management practices/planning 
associated with rare, regionally important, and at-risk wildlife species and 
habitats.

Location:      Prince George, British Columbia
 
Job responsibilities and duties include: utilizing your proficient GIS and 
database skills to assemble spatial data, assist in mapping wildlife and 
habitat inventories, and complete analyses of spatial data integrated from 
multiple sources.

Qualifications:
•       Working knowledge of ArcGIS (ArcMap, ArcEditor) versions 9.x or higher 
as well familiarity with ArcView 3.x 
•       Aptitude for MS Access Geodatabase development, integration, and 
spatial data analyses. 
•       Previous experience working with land use and multivariate datasets. 

In addition to the required qualifications listed above, the best candidate for 
this position will also:
•       Have an ecological background
•       Be detail oriented
•       Be able to solve problems 
•       Work well independently and as part of a team
•       Have completed or currently enrolled in biological sciences, natural 
resource science, or forest science technician training/education 

Salary: Commensurate with experience, starting at $3000CDN/month. 
Unfortunately, MCA Ltd. cannot offer remuneration of moving expenses.

Employment Period: March 1st to August 31, 2007; permanent extension probable 
depending on performance.
