A Ph.D. student fellowship (3 years funding) in cyanobacterial
photosynthesis physiology and protein and gene expression is available at
the College of Marine and Earth Studies at the University of Delaware
starting in the spring of 2007. This is a collaborative project between the
University of Delaware, Old Dominion University, and the University of
Southern California.The project will investigate the impact of currently
projected increases in global CO2 and temperature on the biogeochemistry and
physiological ecology of several nitrogen fixing marine cyanobacteria,
including Trichodesmium spp., in the laboratory as well as the field.

Applicants should have an interest in algal or plant physiology and
biochemistry (molecular biology skills are a plus). The applicants should
also possess strong writing and communication skills, and a strong work
