The Northeast Temperate Network of the National Park Service is  
currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time biologist position (GS  
11/12, $52,912 to $86,801 per year).  This position will coordinate  
long-term monitoring efforts along the Appalachian National Scenic  
Trail.  The incumbent will be responsible for finding, managing, and  
analyzing relevant existing monitoring data, and summarizing findings  
in a series of 'State of the Trail' reports.  The incumbent will also  
support on-going efforts to encourage citizen science-based monitoring  
along the Appalachian Trail (part of the Appalachian Trail  
'Mega-Transect' partnership).  These duties will involve close  
cooperation with many partners, including the Appalachian Trail Park  
Office, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, United States Forest Service,  
and United States Geological Survey.
