Hi All,

I've had several requests to share to results of my survey with the Ecolog
group, so I will do so. Thanks to everyone who is taking the time to
respond to my survey.

Also, I was apparently unclear about my motivation for conducting the
survey. My apologies. I want to know what ecologist's (across a range of
specializations) perceive to be the most important characteristics (not just
what the literature tells us). I appreciate those who are telling me to
read the literature myself. I assure you that I do, or at least try (there
is always room for improvement).

Thanks again,

Derek

Subject: What makes a good invasive species?

I want to get very brief ecologists' perceptions on what makes a good exotic
invasive species for presentation in a future talk. Please respond only to
me and not the entire list serve.

1) Please list what you think are the three most important
characteristics for a species to be a successful invasive exotic (in order
of importance).

a.

b.

c.

2) Rate your level of expertise on this subject (from 1-5 where 5 is an
expert on the subject).

Thanks for your help.
