Cedar Creek Natural History Area of the University of Minnesota (www.cedarcreek.umn.edu) is seeking a self-motivated indivdual to provide computer hardware and software support. This position would start May/June and has the potenial to run into November. The individual would work 40hrs a week. In the fall, hours could become flexible to accommodate a student's semester schedule. Pay is $10.00 to $12.00 per hour. On site housing is available, starting at $300.00 per month.
Some duties include: 1. Establishment and maintenance of computer facilities. 2. Providing general computer hardware and software support. 3. Assisting with data management, programing, and GIS. Minimum Qualifications: Ideal candidate will be in a college program working towards a degree in computer science, computer programming, or related fields. Experienc with Windows PC, Macintosh, and Microsoft Office is required. Helpful experience includes familiarity with computer networking, UNIX systems, GIS coursework, Oracle database, Perl or PHP scripting, or other programming coursework or experience.
