Invasive earthworms from Eurasia are colonizing Michigans Upper Peninsula. These earthworms consume the forest floor and channelize the soil, thereby altering the ecology and hydrology of the ecosystem. A PhD position to investigate the effect of these invasive earthworms is available for a highly motivated and qualified individual in the School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science at Michigan Technological University (MTU). Desirable qualifications in the applicant include a masters degree in Ecology, Forestry or Hydrology. A strong interest in field based research, experimental design and statistics is highly desired.
