The Aquatic Ecology lab at Western Kentucky University has immediate openings for full-time students interested in pursuing a Master of Science degree in Biology. Graduate assistantships will include both a 9-month stipend, a separate summer stipend, and tuition reimbursement. The starting date can be effective either summer or fall 2007.
Graduate student involvement directed towards one of the following active research projects dealing with the ecology of stream macroinvertebrates will be especially encouraged: * Influence of alternative forestry harvesting practices on headwater stream structure and function, with a particular emphasis on macroinvertebrates * Importance of land-use gradients on the structure of stream macroinvertebrate assemblages Please visit the Biology Web site (bioweb.wku.edu) for information about the Master of Science degree program or the WKU Office of Graduate Studies and Research (www.wku.edu/Dept/Academic/Graduate) regarding application information.
