The Ecological Society of America (ESA) announces the availability of
five $1,000 travel awards to students presenting papers or posters at
the 2007 ESA/SER Joint Meeting in San Jose, CA. These awards are
sponsored by the Strategic Environmental Research and Development
Program (SERDP). SERDP is the U.S. Department of Defense's corporate
environmental research and development (R&D) program, planned and
executed in full partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy and the
Environmental Protection Agency.=20

Students with abstracts accepted in one of three subject areas are
eligible to apply. These areas are:=20

*        Ecosystem management=20

*        Invasive species

*        Threatened and endangered species=20

To apply, please submit the following information.

*        Complete contact information=20

*        A copy of the accepted abstract=20

*        A letter of recommendation from your advisor=20

*        A brief statement (maximum 200 words) responding to the
question "How will your research contribute to management of natural
resources on federal lands?"=20

*        Proof of student status=20
