Description: The Graduate student will work on NSF and EPA funded projects to quantify exchange processes of water, carbon, and mercury between terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere. The successful applicant will conduct micrometeorological studies, chamber-based exchange measurements, and laboratory incubations studies to quantify deposition and emissions fluxes of atmospheric constituents from/to various ecosystem compartments. We especially seek a person with strong interest in atmospheric science, environmental pollution, or ecosystem ecology and someone willing to work in a multidisciplinary research team in the field and in the laboratory.
