Sorry I did not whittle this URL down a bit. For Galapagos and Conservation enthusiasts this is important stuff.
In many trips to Galapagos have seen a couple of things: 1. Guides going ashore, killing goats and feeding them to passengers = under a different name. Had a group where the Guides were not very = diplomatic and dragged the animals back on deck in front of startled = passengers. Funny to me, but of course not part of their Galapagos = itinerary. 2. I know of one co. that actually has taken people ashore and let them = take part in the hunt.=20 References available on 1 and 2 above if you'd like. I've been told by people even at the Charles Darwin Research Station = that eradicating goats in Galapagos was an impossible task. It would be = great news. I also question many of the U of MD's comments in this article and would = be pleased to discuss with him in any format that he chooses. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/01/world/americas/01galapagos.html?ex=3D13= 35672000&en=3Dbb28ca7ce770d14a&ei=3D5088&partner=3Drssnyt&emc=3Drss Thanks for listening.
