Chicago Botanic Garden in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management is
looking for a wildlife ecologist with a strong background in ornithology to
intern at the BLM Newcastle Field Office in Newcastle, Wyoming. Newcastle is
nestled between the Thunder Basin National Grassland and Black Hills in South
Dakota.
The internship begins in mid June and last for 5 months.
Compensation is $750 each two weeks.
We are looking for recent graduates who have experience working with breeding
migratory birds, field work experience and love to work outdoors! The ability
to use a GPS unit and GIS software is important and Microsoft Access software
experience is preferred, but not necessary.
Desired Skills:
· Ability to develop migratory bird transects
· Ability to effectively use a GPS unit
· Field experience with mammals and an understanding of sensitive and
T/E fauna
· Ability to be in the field for long hours
· Ability to transfer and manipulate data in Microsoft Access
Requirements:
· BS or BA in Wildlife Biology
· US citizen or current visa to work in US
· Vehicle needed for personal use, work vehicle is provided
