Chicago Botanic Garden in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management is
looking for a botanist with plant monitoring skills to intern at the BLM Rock
Springs Field Office, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Rock Springs is located in
southwest Wyoming, approximately 100 miles south of Grand Teton National Park.
Internship begins early to mid June and lasts for 5 months.
Compensation is $750 each two weeks.
We are looking for a recent graduate with plant identification skills to
conduct rangeland monitoring. Field work experience is necessary and the
ability to use a GPS unit and GIS software is preferred, but some training will
be provided.
Desired Skills:
· Ability to identify flora in the intermountain west
· Ability to use a dichotomous key
· Ability to collect vegetation data
· Ability to learn and effectively use a GPS unit
· Field experience
Requirements:
· BS or BA in Plant Biology or Ecology with a botanical focus
· US citizen or current visa to work in US
· Valid drivers license
· Vehicle needed for personal use, work vehicle is provided
