Hi All,

I'm working on my MS, concerning the concentration and distribution of
various dioxygenase genes in soil bacteria- basically, bacteria that break
down really persistent pollutants.

One of the new-ish degradation pathways in this field is phn, and i'm trying
to quantify its copy numbers in soil using real-time PCR. With that in mind,
does anyone out there have an actual protocol for this yet?

If not, how about a plasmid carrying phnAc?

If not that, how about a culture of the strain it was isolated from,
Burkholderia RP007?

While the gene has been detected in environmental probes around here, nobody
seems to have the various components for a real time PCR protocol put
together, and I was wondering if anyone had some of the pieces floating
around out there. - I'm trying to avoid the delay and expense of having to
get myself a culture shipped in from New Zealand ;)

Thank you,

Inigo Howlett
