I have plot points that were marked with a mobile mapper GPS system. I exported the points as shapefiles from the mobile mapper software to ArcCatalog however, when I try to add them into ArcMap I receive an "inconsistent extent" error message. I tried changing the coordinate system in mobile mapper prior to exporting them and this solved the problem of the error message showing up, however; the points are still not visible. When I try to zoom to the layer they should be in they appear, but with a scale ratio of 1:0 and without the background map.
