Field assistants are needed in order to assist a Northern Arizona University
graduate student in plot-implementation during a quick, intense field season
in the backcountry of Zion National Park. The research will monitor the
effectiveness of two herbicides (plateau and roundup) on cheatgrass
invasions in the recent Dakota Hills Complex wildfires that burned this past
summer.

Work will be full time temporary and consist of two to three eight day trips
with six days off in-between (16-24 days of work total). The work weeks
will start and end on Thursdays at the park. Work will start either
September 20th or October 4th. The pay rate will be $10-$14 depending on
experience with an additional $19/day stipend (to be reimbursed after the
trips). Transportation costs will not be covered.

Workers must have backcountry experience, be able to carry 50 lbs for
sustained distances, and be willing to work long, hard days in varying
weather conditions at elevations between 6,000-7,000 ft.
