The University of Louisiana at Monroe invites applications for the position of Head of the Department of Biology. This is a position at the associate or full professor rank with a contract starting date of August 2008 (contingent on funding). The head is expected to have a strong commitment to advancing the research and teaching missions of the undergraduate and MS programs. The department includes 19 faculty, over 300 undergraduate majors, and ~ 30 MS students. The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in the biological sciences, demonstrated administrative experience, significant accomplishments in teaching, research productivity, external funding experience, and excellent communication skills.
