Field Technician Needed An energetic field technician is sought to work as part of a team conducting research on vegetation and avian community response to habitat restoration programs (fire and mechanical treatments) on south Florida rangelands. Responsibilities will include vegetation, insect, and seed sampling, and conducting point counts. For a recent graduate with the desired qualifications, this position will provide valuable field experience.
Qualifications: B.S. degree in wildlife, range, natural resource management, or related field; previous field experience; ability to identify birds of the eastern U.S. by sight and sound preferred; experience with vegetation sampling an advantage; valid drivers license; capacity and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team. Employment period end of January 2008 through the end of August 2008. Compensation: $300-340/week depending on experience, free basic field housing. Closing date: November 1, 2007.
