CONSERVATION VALUATION ANALYST, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, DAVIS -- The
College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, University of
California, Davis, invites applications for a position at the
tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level, with the possibility of an
appointment in the California Agricultural Experiment Station. This is
one of eight college positions in a Global Environmental Change and
Conservation Biology cluster.  The ideal candidate will have a
background in both economic evaluation and the dynamics of ecological
systems, and will be expected to have or develop a high-quality
publication record.  The research program should address how society
values biodiversity, species conservation, ecosystem services, natural
capital and wildlands.  The research may combine methods from various
approaches and disciplines including economics, applied economics,
ecology, cognitive psychology, quantitative political science or
sociology, survey design, and statistics. The successful candidate will
be expected to develop disciplinary and cross-disciplinary
collaborations with other members of the global change cluster listed
above, as well as other researchers studying ecosystem valuation at UC
Davis. A Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline is required by the time of
appointment. Applicants for this position should have teaching interests
in fields such as: conservation valuation, environmental/ecological
economics, conservation biology, environmental policy, and quantitative
methods.
