The Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University seeks to fill a temporary, non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Natural Resource Biometrics. The position is available beginning in January 2008 for a minimum of 1 year, with the possibility of an extension likely. =20
=20 The successful candidate will join a vibrant department consisting of 30 faculty, 90 graduate students, and 250 undergraduates (see http://www.fnr.purdue.edu <http://www.fnr.purdue.edu/> /). Teaching responsibilities will include two courses during spring semester (Natural Resources Measurement and Quantitative Methods for Resource Management), a portion (1 week) of Natural Resources Practicum during Maymester, and a course to be determined in the fall. Involvement in research is encouraged, and departmental properties and associated facilities are available for this purpose. Collaborative efforts in departmental areas of excellence (sustainable hardwood ecosystems, sustainable land use systems) also are possible.=20 =20 Qualifications: A Ph.D. and evidence of excellence in teaching and research.
