Postdoctoral Opportunity in Global Change Ecology Position number 4834
The University of Wyoming Department of Renewable Resources is soliciting applications for a full-time postdoctoral research associate to conduct research on the responses of northern mixed-grass prairie to global change. The research scientist will lead studies on ecosystem carbon and water cycle processes in the Prairie Heating and CO2 Enrichment (PHACE) experiment (www.phace.us) now underway at the High Plains Grasslands Research Station near Laramie, Wyoming. The scientist will have access to the University of Wyoming Stable Isotope Facility (uwacadweb.uwyo.edu/sif/) and opportunities to collaborate with a diverse group of researchers at UW and the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Fort Collins, Colorado. A PhD in ecology, hydrology, soil science, biogeochemistry or closely related field at the time of appointment is required. Familiarity with stable isotope approaches, gas exchange measurements and ecosystem modeling is desired. The position will be available February 1, 2008 and will offer a generous salary and benefits.
