Several people sent me links to climate data in
response to my earlier request. I've summarized
them below. Thanks to everyone who assisted.

“The MODIS global Gross Primary Productivity
algorithm uses a meteorological dataset at 1° x
1.25° that is downscaled to 1-km resolution by
interpolation. The paper below summarizes the
algorithm, but you need permission of the author
to use the data: Zhao, M. S., Heinsch, F. A.,
Nemani, R. R., & Running, S. W. (2005).
Improvements of the MODIS terrestrial gross and
net primary production global data set. Remote
Sensing of Environment (95), 164-176.”
