serve as the University Statistical Consultant.
This person may come from any field or background as long as they have 
the requisites spelled out in the ad below.
This is a tenure-track position, and the successful candidate would also 
be housed in the department most appropriate to his/her background.
Since many ecologists have strong statistical training and are 
particularly adept in applied statistics, they would be highly qualified 
for this position.

Appalachian State University invites qualified applicants for a 
12-month, tenure-track, open-rank position as University Statistical 
Consultant. The position requires expertise in a diverse array of 
statistical software, methods and applications in a variety of client 
disciplines (e.g., biology, education, psychology, business), but the 
terminal degree of the successful candidate may be in any discipline. 
The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide statistical 
consulting for the University community and to conduct workshops on the 
use of various statistical software packages. Minimum Qualifications: 
terminal degree in candidate’s discipline with emphasis in statistical 
analysis; exceptional oral and written communication skills; knowledge 
of multiple statistical software packages. Consulting experience, 
preferably in an academic setting, is required.
