Fire Science Graduate Research Assistantship- This Spring!

Beginning Spring, early Jan. 2008 

Ph.D. graduate research assistantship position available at the University 
of Florida’s Fire Science Lab in the School of Forest Resources and 
Conservation (MS applicants will also be considered).  This four-year 
position includes full tuition paid along with a monthly stipend 
associated with approximately 12 hours/ week of research assistantship 
work.  Position duties include research design, field data collection and 
experimentation where appropriate, data analysis, and publication of 
research results addressing a chosen specialization in the topical areas 
of fire ecology, fire behavior, fuels mitigation, fire history, or fire 
use in fire-adapted ecosystems.  Applicants should have field research 
and/or firefighting experience, a MS degree in the biological or physical 
sciences, and can demonstrate excellent writing and quantitative skills.
