The current lack or rain has us thinking a lot about the importance
of water for birds and other wildlife, as well as the human penchant
for wasting this valuable natural resource.

For a photo essay on the effects of drought in the Carolinas and
beyond, please visit the 22-30 November installment of "This Week at
Hilton Pond" at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek071122.html

As always we include a tally of all birds banded and recaptured
during the period, a few miscellaneous nature notes, and a reminder
about the York/Rock Hill Christmas Bird Count coming up on 22
December 2007.

Happy Nature Watching!
