Rhodes College Biology and Memphis Zoo Postdoctoral Position

            The Biology Department of Rhodes College and the Memphis Zoo se=
ek  applications for a shared three-year postdoctoral position to begin Aug=
ust, 2008.
This position will enhance the developing partnership between these adjacen=
t institutions, and will provide mentored teaching opportunities at Rhodes =
in combination with research resources at the Zoo.  We encourage applicatio=
ns from individuals whose interests go beyond traditional disciplinary boun=
daries.  Areas of research such as Conservation Biology, Restoration Ecolog=
y and Forest Health, Nutritional Ecology or Animal Behavior are of particul=
ar interest to complement the growing interdisciplinary program in Environm=
ental Sciences at Rhodes and ongoing efforts of the Memphis Zoo.
            Applicants must have a Ph.D., a strong interest in teaching and=
 mentoring undergraduate students and a commitment to research.  Teaching o=
pportunities include participation in the introductory biology sequence, a =
zoo-related course, and an upper-level course in the candidate's area of sp=
ecialty.
