ect the necessary data, perform data analysis, draft department biological=

reef species at various spatial and temporal scales within=0Athe American S=
amoa Territory: This project involves annual monitoring of=0Asportfish popu=
lations at the 24 permanent monitoring sites around Tutuila and=0Apossibly =
expanding to other island groups to determine the status of the=0Apopulatio=
n across space and time. Habitat and environmental variables are used=0Aas =
a covariate to explain the patterns in the population distribution. This=0A=
project also aims to look into the impacts of habitat degradation on juveni=
le=0Afish habitat as one of its objectives.=0A=0A=0A=0AAge and growth studi=
es on dominant key reef species: This project aims to=0Adetermine age and g=
rowth patterns of the dominant key reef species as=0Ainfluenced by fishing =
pressure and other environmental variables. This involves=0Aa lot of back c=
alculations from the otolith archives and some hatchery=0Aexperiments to ca=
